Key won't go in 2015 Volkswagon Passat

Went to dealer said it will cost $600.00 that I need a $110.00 Tumbler, $198.00 Steering Lock and Labor will be 287.50....plus tax!!!! This sounds outrageous for a 3 year old car!!

It is outrageous. Take it to a locksmith. If you have a second key, be sure to give it a try first.

Mine is passat 2016. My car key wont go in the ignition too! I called AAA, they cant troubleshoot it! Im waiting for my car to be towed. Im stuck here in Wawa.

I too had the same problem, 2015 Passat Wolfsburg edition move steering wheel back and forth and force key into the ignition, car will start and then turn it off to the second off position and remove the key. Get a bottle of 3 in 1 oil and put a drop into the ignition switch and it will work. Need to get mechanic to remove spring and plastic piece that is locking you out, this plastic makes no difference to the ignition, just there to make dealers more money. Hope this helps you
