2003 Passat won't start

I was replacing the starter on my Passat , didn't realize the new one was bad
also(autozone) checked it for me. Anyways while in the process I thought my battery
was dead too so i used the one from another vehicle instead,i hooked it up backwards
before i knew it .I quickly on hooked it but not before I apparently fried the altinator and
who knows what else. I've replaced the battery and altinator but still it won't start. Any
suggestions?
