Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If I shut it down for a while or sometimes let it cool down by the forced air while it coasts to a stop, it will start up again, if it has cooled down enough.

Hi Bob! Here's an engine troubleshooting guide to some of these types on engine issues. Hopefully it will point you in a fruitful direction. Good luck! http://autorepair.about.com/cs/troubleshooting/a/bl303a.htm

sometimes the thermostat sticks closed, it will cool enough on cool days but when its hot or you drive 'er hard it will over heat. start with a thermostat and while you are in there look to see if the radiator is cloged.
