Is anyone having trouble with 2015 Kia Sportage suddenly surging forward when braking into a parking space?

Question type: General

Driving slowly in a parking lot, pulled into a parking space; braking to very slow
then to stop. the Kia Sportage surged, jumped a curb, crossed a fairly wide
sidewalk, and finally stopped hitting a solid stone faced pillar.  damage
estimate $11,200.  anyone else having trouble with power surges like this when
moving 5 miles/hour or less and BRAKING?

Yes it happened to me yesterday. Exactly the same. It scared . The hell out of me. out of me, aprox. $7000 damage, new Kia Cerato. I refuse to drive it, has happened twice in the last month. Kia have got to do something about it, I could have killed myself or somebody else,very dangerous.

It happened to me two days ago. 12/13/2017 I swearved just in time to avoid hitting a pole.

I refusedto drive my Kia again, as it happened twice in a month. It's called uinintenial surging, & Kia refused to recognise it. Had to sell the car although only 5mnts old

You must'nt put the cruise control on, as just I was told that was what caused it to surge, just be very careful. Like I said we sold mine as I refused to drive it anymore
