Seat interchangeability

Asked by Benush26 Oct 30, 2009 at 01:00 AM about the 1996 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr SLE 4WD SUV

Question type: Car Customization

Bought a 96 Jimmy 4 dr SLE and the driver's seat only moves forward without any weight on the seat and the seat padding has seen better days, so thinking of replacing them.  Will the seats from a 1999 Jimmy bolt into the brackets of a 1996?  I am not worried about electrical connectors since I presume I could splice any power and ground connectors that exist.
It would cost $140 for shipping to get the seats here so I'm not too excited about buying them and then trying to sell them if they don't fit.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Ben
