How do u know battery will not hold charge? Did u disconnect battery and try charging it? Try that then without turning the key try to turn lights on, try horn, etc, the try cranking engine. if they work battery probably ok. Than it might be alernator, u can take it out and have it tested (check also that belt is good and turning alternator. Remenber....battery starts car and runs car alarms after u shut car off, alternator runs all things electrical when cars running and charges the battery.
If alternator is new and charging & u say battery is not holding charge, than why have u not put in a new battery in? U can take a voltmeter and check if your getting voltage at battery too, but if alternator is new and all wiring, etc is OK u should be.
