Mazda 3 brake grinding

Asked by GuruVF7RL Sep 15, 2018 at 06:10 PM about the 2015 Mazda MAZDA3 i Grand Touring Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 Mazda 3. I had to make a sudden
stop and heard a loud grinding noise. During normal
braking there is no noise. The braking wasn’t
aggressive enough to activate the ABS. Inspecting
all 4 brakes shows normal wear with plenty of life
left. The car does not pull under braking. The brake
shields appear normal. I can duplicate the noise. No
indication on the dash showing any faults. Rotors
are good as well. Any ideas?

You could have something wedged up in there. A small rock or debri. You will have to fully inspect and possibly take the wheels off to do so.

I think you just actually made the ABS pump work the pedal pulses and it feels different
