What other cars will a 2015 Toyota Corolla Engine/Trans fit in?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My son's Corolla was in an accident. There is major body damage but the engine, transmission, etc... seem to be good to go and he is able to drive it. We are looking to possibly find another car with no engine or bad engine and put his engine in it to make 1 good car.

Document the operation of your engine (compression test), and all, other parts of valuable reuse and Post them. Go get an replacement car with the insurance proceeds. Having the drive train swapped is probably $3k in labor. Now if this is a D-I-Y initiative and a learning opportunity and perhaps inspirational - then find and record / photograph the Service parts Tag, and establish the compatibility parameters you need to care about and have at it. I am all, in favor of rescue operations so our 2000 corolla got an engine transplant and later a transmission (automatic) transplant. I secured the organs, the mechanic did the work. Transmission swap was $800 labor and $150 for the part; the engine was $1100 labor and $700 for the part. It can be done with an engine hoist from that cheap place, and a transmission jack. Good luck on your quest. _ The auction maybe is apace to find the late model high mileage car with issues.
Thanks for the response and info on labor costs. Unfortunately as it was a one car accident while there was an insurance lapse (long story) there is no insurance money. Also, still looking to find out what the engine would fit in besides the 2013-2017 Corollas.
