2015 F150 starting issues - cranks and doesnt always start.

I brought my truck to the dealership today and they wanted to charge me
over $500 dollars to get my starter changed and repaired but didn't
guarantee it would fix the starting issues.  They mentioned about when we
go to start it, it doesn't always catch the tooth or its warn out.  
It has full power when we turn the key and it'll start just fine sometimes but a
lot of times it doesn't always turn over.  So I go to turn the key all way to
start, it makes noise but doesn't start the engine. Any Ideas?  do I just need
a new starter?

It sounds like the dealership is talking about a possible broken tooth on the flywheel which engages the starter when lined up with the gear on the starter. You should hear a grinding sound if this is the case. Try putting the vehicle in drive or reverse and move it a couple of feet to move the broken tooth away from the starter. If it starts, that is the problem.
