Chassis control

check the fuse in the inside fuse box labeled "elec_ig_power" it is a 10 amp fuse. if it is pop there is something causing a dead short when the ignition button is pushed. My wife's (2015 Rouge SV)car did the same thing 11/05/2018. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the fuse and gave me a line of bull and had no answer as to why the fuse blew. On 12/22/2018 it happen again , now the fuse pops every time you push the ignition button to start the engine. The only way to move the car(without using the shift lock bypass) is to replace this fuse while the engine is already running. The circuit it protects also powers the " chassis control module" so the car will not shift out of park and there is no power steering. I had three dealerships look at it and have not got an answer yet. I am going to buy a wiring diagram and repair it my self. If any one has any input i would greatly appreciate it.
This happened to my wife's 2015 Rouge. Turns out we had a bad tire, found out the hard way when I had a blowout in it. Anyhow I got the tire replaced and that fixed the error.
How do you change it out of CHA SSIS control
Nissan has issue in some cars.. we have the same Nissan Rogue SL 2018 and got the same issue and they are replacing the entire unit.
We brought our 2019 Rogue Sport on Tue 071619 with 33 miles on it, then on Wed 071719 at start of a new day to go out we got the chassis control system error. We took it straight to Pedder Nissan and they told us it was a communication problem and it would take 3 to 5 days for the part to arrive. I am nervous about the future with this car. I will update this post after repairs are done.
GuruBBDS98 Thank You..!!! U Solved the problem I was fideling with the car stereo wires and it made a littleist short, and that's what caused it and again Thank You..
Do you know what fuse it was?
Guru1LJXT Could changing the settings in the audio system also make a short? That's the only thing I made before getting the "Chassis control system error" popup. I'll check if my 10A "elec parts ign" fuse needs to be changed.
All I had to do was jumpstart the car battery wasn’t letting the car kick on so I jumped it and it works.

Why is there not a recall on this problem!? My 2017 just did this yesterday morning I was told it was because my battery was going bad. They put in a new battery this morning and guess what!! Same thing. I think this issue is what may have blown cells in my battery NOT the other way around.
My 2017 Nissan Rogue is doing the same thing. Said battery, but still doing the same thing
My 2015 Nissan Rogue had the same error. It would happen randomly, we could not control the car, turn hazard lights on, indicators or increase speed. We took it to Nissan and they replaced the engine harness (3.5k) 7 months later the exact same thing happened and they cannot reproduce the problem. Apparently nothing came up in the diagnostic codes. So, we are now left with a car that has the same chassis system control issue error, and Nissan is saying they have never seen this problem. Yet, I’m seeing it all over the internet. I have a car that can’t be fixed. They either fixed something that was not the cause of the problem or they didn’t fix the problem.
This just happened to my wife's 2016 Rogue SL FWD. When the start button was pushed the Chassis Control System Error came on, and the car won't start. Looks like in some of y'all's cases, the vehicle started, but couldn't get the car out of Park. This happened last night when she got off work. I just picked her up and we left the vehicle there as I didn't want to start messing with it at night, plus I need research. I am about to head over there to mess around with it. My order of battle is: 1) check the battery cables and terminals to ensure solid contact 2) check the elec-ig-power fuse to see if that's blown 3) if both of the above checks out, then jump the vehicle and drive it to Autozone and replace the battery (battery is over 4 years old) After that I am out of ideas. Any one with any luck resolving this issue?
hi guys, do we have any update for this Chassis Control System Error? my rogue is sitting on my garage almost a week now. i replaced Throttle body, Pedal position sensor ( gas pedal) and also ECM with the same load. i called dealership about that ECM to verify that the second ECM has same load what i got. but still doing same. won't start since first day i got the Chassis Control System Error, but yesterday after i changed the pedal it will start but it won't rev up. i'm running out of idea now. i'm thingking to replace my whole harness, but that's gonna be lots of work. if anyone can solve this issue please... please let me know. thanks

We just did an oil change and now my car is having the same issue. “Chassis control system error” wtffffff
2016 rogue sl. Same issue. Chassis malfunction. Did not start when this code came up. Mimicked dead battery when tried to start Scanned it at dealer. They say it’s my radar distance sensor causing the issue. Car has less than 15,000 km. Sensor is 1030$. I did not replace the sensor yet. . Car will start after several attempts. Ran charge system test myself and noticed battery was weak. Changed battery. And we shall see results this week.

Check you fluids! Hubby checked mine and my transmission fluid wasn’t at the correct level
Use cruise control increase speed and decrease speed with cruise control button it should work

It happened to me in my 2016 SL AWD...I checked all the fuses and was going to tow it to the dealer but thought it made clicking noises like when a battery dies so I decided to jumpstart the car. It started and I called AAA. An hour later I had a new battery and the problem is (hopefully) gone.

I have the 2016 Rogue and I got the Chassis Control System Error. Took it to Nissan and they said it would have to have the intake manifold replaced at $1,250. They said maybe it would be covered under the powertrain warranty and maybe I would only have to pay a deductible. They had to order it and find out if it will be covered or not, so now I am waiting for them to call me.
I have same problem on 2017 sv clicking like needs battery .will check fuse.chassis error wow.
Turns out it was the weak battery. Changed car battery no more chassis control module codes and lights in dash.

Same issue here. Tried to change the Map Data sD card and did the update. “It said system will now reboot”. It did and now I get the chassis malfunction and my car won’t start and the lights flash and it makes clicking sounds. All the lights work and the radio works- could it still be the battery? The fuse is fine.
I would like to know if anyone fixed the problem? I have tried all the ideas and still having the Chassis malfunction
Chassis Control System Error still a problem. Please let me know if anyone resolved this problem?
Better to bring your car into dealership. My 2014 sv still seating in my garage. I spent 1950CAD for brand new ECM, and 1900CAD engine harness. But please make sure you pick old dealership nissan. Not the new dealership, atleast you know that those tech right there have good experienced
Hey Nissan owners.. i recently had my 2014 Nissan Rogue Select throw that chassis warranty alert crap. the car would crank up and i could put it in drive and reverse but i couldn't rev u the engine... i checked the fuses. listed above no cigar.. the engine light came on and threw a 2101code. The throttle Actuator control motor i believe is stuck closed. Try removing the wire connector to the left of where you change your Air filter. crank it up and rev the engine. if it works reconnect ans see if thats the problem. i still get that chassis warning sometimes but at least i can dtive it.
We are having the same problem ! Can we drive the car can any tell us ?
Hi guys, i just wanna share with you guys. Hopefully i can help some of you having same issue. I posted here few months ago about that chassis control error. Looks lime that dash alarm can lead us to lots of issue. Make sure that you guys connect OBDll to find exactly the issue is. After 10months fighting. I finally fixed my car. If you guys have same issue like mine i might be able to help you with this post. If you have "throttle/pedal position" code on your car. You can change the engine harness. For 2014-2020 nissan rogue. We do have two engine harness. Do not change the main engine harness. Just change the engine harness that goes to BCM or body control module. If you guys leave in Calgary Alberta Canada i can help you guys with this. I do have spare throttle body and pedal assembly which is the pedal position sensor build in. Hopefully i can help someone with the same issue here. I'm just glad that i end up to able to bring this car back to the road not to junk yard. I was about to that. Thanks god i found the issue that two dealership in my area can't fix it.

Hi Guru2PTQV I’m in Calgary too, where did you bring your car?
I brought my car to fishcreek and south trail nissan. Try to avoid south trail nissan. Fishcreek nissan will charge you a lot for sure. Their pretty expensive. If you do have same issue like mine i might be able to help you diagnose it.

This happened to my 2020 Rogue SL with under 7K. With the pandemic and working from home, we're putting very few kilometres on our car. That, combined with the cold spell we've been having in Toronto. Long story short, a battery jump start was all we needed to clear the error and console warnings. We apparently have not been driving enough to keep the battery charged. (Anecdotally, we've been advised to try to have the engine running/drive at least 1 hour per week). While going through all of the suggestions here, is it just me, or are all of the fuses awfully close together in the interior fusebox? Parked in the garage, I could not open the door wide enough to access the elec_ig_power 10A fuse! I hope my answer helps someone else out.
I was getting the same error. Replaced my battery (it was 5 years old) and the CAR STARTED IMMEDIATELY!
Birdfanman answered 3 years ago
Me too...jumped it first and started right up. Replaced the battery and have had no issues since.
Birdfanman I attempted to charge my battery for a while but had no luck. It was the original factory battery and it was over 5 years old. Took it to the auto parts store where they tested it as bad. So when I went home and put in the new battery--BAM everything was perfect. This car hadn't been started in about 2 weeks (we were snowbound) and the battery just finished dying-off I guess.

My 2016 nissan rogue just popped up with the issue while driving and we are still able to drive it thankfully. I don't really want to bring it to the dealership near me since I swear they have no idea what they are doing and I don't trust them. Could it be the fuse?

Mines a 2016 Nissan rogue SV. I just bought it couple months ago from a dealership it’s a used vehicle obviously. I got the chassis control warning check owners manual. The owners manual doesn’t ever mention the chassis control so I have no idea all the information that I have from this is from reading this thread. However I was lucky because the warning came up but my car never stopped running and I haven’t had any problem with it starting and after I parked it and turned it back on the warning sign was gone. I’m going to save this thread in case it does happen again or gets worse and I can show it to my mechanic.

Dang. Went to start my 2016 Nissan Rogue after work yesterday and encountered the "Chassis Control System Error See Owner's Manual" message along with an alternating "Warning Malfunction See Owner's Manual" message. Unfortunately, since it is a push button start vehicle, I couldn't just turn the key to make the message go away as the vehicle continues to blink alerts at me non-stop as long as the key is anywhere near the vehicle (you'd think there'd be some sort of kill switch, but I haven't found one). After leaving the vehicle for a few minutes to Google all of this, I went back out, tried to start it again and got the same messages, on this time it added a "Shutting down to conserve battery" message along with a "No key detected" message. Basically, it's a $20k paperweight. Had a friend jump it and it started. I drove it 22 miles to an AutoZone and parked it and turned it off. Went inside to ask to have the battery tested. Guy came out, tested it to find that the battery was at 100%. I fired it up again (this time with zero and he ran whatever other diagnostics his machine would let him run and told me that there were zero warnings. Alternator was fine. Starter was fine. Nothing. For peace of mind, I bought a $110 Duralast 800AMP portable jumper. So, I hopped in, drove 4 miles to Lowes, went inside for a few minutes, came back out, tried to start it and received the same "Chassis Control System Error See Owner's Manual" message along with the alternating "Warning Malfunction See Owner's Manual" message. Tried the Duralast Jumper with no luck. Let it sit. Tried it again. Nothing. (I'm not sure if the car has issues that would not let me jump it with the Jumper, or if the thing just didn't work?) Called my wife, she came and I jumped my Rogue from her vehicle. She followed me the 6 miles to our house where I parked it, turned it off. Waited 60 seconds, hit the starter again and it fired right up. I went inside, fully charged the portable jumper and then went back outside to try to start my Rogue again after an hour. It started up somewhat reluctantly, but it did start. This morning I went out to see if it would start after sitting overnight and after two tries where it chugged a bit and would not start, it fired up on the third try and purred like normal. So, I drove my wife's car to work and have asked her to try to start it every couple of hours today. We'll also take it to our regular service center (or a Nissan dealership depending on what they say), but I have no idea what to do next? Is it the "elec_ig_power" fuse? Is it some sort of engine harness, throttle pedal, or manifold BS? No clue. I've owned it for 10 months and this is my first issue with it other than the rear hatch not wanting to open when I pushed the button on the key fob for awhile (and then it miraculously did, and still does ???). I'll keep you posted. My first instinct is to replace the battery, but if the current one tests at 100% and I can't jump it with the Duralast Jumper, that doesn't make much sense.
I have a 2019 Rouge, and this error showed up, for a few minutes. After shutting down and starting up a few minutes later the error disappeared, luckily none of the issues mentioned before me. However i did look it up in the manual, here is what it said; Chassis Control System Error: See Owner’s Manual (Section 8) (if so equipped) This warning appears if the Integrated Dynamics-control Module detects an error in the Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Engine Brake, or the Active Ride Control systems. Have the system checked. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service. For additional information, refer to “Chassis control” in the “Starting and driving” section 5 of this manual. CHASSIS CONTROL (Section 5-157 to 5-159) The chassis control is an electric control module that includes the following functions: ∙ Intelligent Trace Control ∙ Intelligent Engine Brake ∙ Active Ride Control INTELLIGENT TRACE CONTROL (I-TC) This system senses driving based on the driver’s steering and acceleration/braking patterns, and controls brake pressure at individual wheels to aid tracing at corners and help smooth vehicle response. The I-TC can be set to on (enabled) or off (disabled) through the vehicle information display “Settings” page. For additional information, refer to “Vehicle information dis- play” in the “Instruments and controls” section of this manual. When the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) OFF switch is used to turn off the VDC system, the I-TC is also turned off. When the I-TC is operated and the “Chassis Control” mode is selected in the vehicle in- formation display, the I-TC graphics are shown in the vehicle information display. For additional information, refer to “Vehicle information display” in the “Instruments and controls” section of this manual. If the “Chassis Control System Error: See Owner’s Manual” warning message appears in the vehicle information display, it may indicate that the I-TC is not function- ing properly. Have the system checked as soon as possible. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service. LSD2185 When the I-TC is operating, you may feel a pulsation in the brake pedal and hear a noise. This is normal and indicates that the I-TC is operating properly. Even if the I-TC is turned off, some functions will remain on to assist the driver (for ex- ample, avoidance scenes). WARNING The I-TC may not be effective depending on the driving condition. Always drive carefully and attentively. Starting and driving 5-157 INTELLIGENT ENGINE BRAKE (I-EB) The I-EB function adds subtle deceleration by controlling Continuously Variable Trans- mission (CVT) gear ratio, depending on the cornering condition calculated from driver’s steering input and plural sensors. This benefit is for easier traceability and less workload of adjusting speed with braking at corners. The I-EB also enhances braking feel by adding subtle deceleration with CVT gear ratio control according to driver’s brake pedal operation The I-EB can be set to on (enabled) or off (disabled) through the vehicle information display “Settings” page. For additional information, refer to “Vehicle information dis- play” in the “Instruments and controls” section of this manual. When the I-EB is operated at corners and the “Chassis Control” mode is selected in the vehicle information display, the I-EB graphics are shown in the vehicle information display. For additional information, refer to “Vehicle information display” in the “Instruments and controls” section of this manual. If the “Chassis Control System Error: See Owner’s Manual” warning message appears in the vehicle information display, it may indicate that the I-EB is not function- ing properly. Have the system checked as soon as possible. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service. LSD2185 When the I-EB is operating, the needle of the tachometer will rise up and you may hear an engine noise. This is normal and indicates that the I-EB is operating properly. ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL (ARC) This system senses upper body motion (based on wheel speed information) and controls engine torque and four wheel brake pressure. This will enhance ride com- fort in effort to restrain uncomfortable up- per body movement when passing over undulated road surfaces. This system comes into effect above 25 mph (40 km/h). When the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) OFF switch is used to turn off the VDC system, the ARC is also turned off. When the ARC is operating, you may hear noise and sense slight deceleration. This is normal and indicates that the ARC is operating properly. LSD2186 When brake control of ARC is operated and the “Chassis Control” mode is selected in the vehicle information display, the ARC graphics are shown in the vehicle information display. For additional information, refer to “Vehicle information display” in the “Instruments and controls” section of this manual. If the “Chassis Control System Error: See Owner’s Manual” warning message appears in the vehicle information display, it may indicate that the ARC is not function- ing properly. Have the system checked as soon as possible. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

2014 Rogue with only 68,000 miles on it. Chassis control failure message came up in June 2021. Dealer decided to replace intake manifold sensor, about $600 for the repair. A few weeks later in late July message reared its ugly head again. They ran diagnostics, reset the computer and message did not return for the next 10 months. In June this year, message up and I took the car in. They reset the computer and could not get the code to come up again after driving it, supposedly, for a week. Sent it home and in five days the message came up again. (the car powers down and have trouble accelerating). Took it right back to the dealer who now determined that the most prominent code indicates need for an intake manifold ($1600 repair). My car has been at the dealer now for 6 weeks and they cannot seem to find the part. I am not in a position to buy a new car. Wondering if anyone had the intake manifold replaced and if it solved the problem permanently. The sticker price back in 2014 was $35,000 and as I said only 68,000 miles. No car that expensive should be "dead" or "unrepairable" after only 68K miles.
I bet you that this are electrical wiring issues. Those technician sucks! Even nissan support here in North america. That's why that rogue will be my last nissan

2019 Nissan Rouge here..."Warning- Chassis Control System Error- See Owners Manual" message popped up while driving to work this morning. I have noticed it has been driving funny lately, but I do need two new tires and figured that was why it felt somewhat unstable when I hit a bump on road (live in Louisiana, LOTS of bumps in road lol). I have a new battery, so I know that's not the issue as some have suggested. Sure hope my car starts when I try to leave today.... After reading all these posts...this needs to be a recall!!
