why I don't have anything blowing up front in truck

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2001 expedition that has stopped blowing anything. no A C which I really want now, but not even just the vent. The defrost doesn't want to work. But when I turn on the back for vent it will blow, but no ac. what could be going on.

could you have a burned out blower motor? or resistor pack (what provides resistance for the varying speeds)? is it the switch itself, you reckon? have you looked at the fuses? did it give up altogether or slow down considerably~?

the A/C hasn't been serviced in a while? get the filter/drier replaced and a new charge up...it's probably due for it~

Your battery may also be in need of replacement as 2001 is over ten years old and according to expert advice will lose ten percent per year, the ability to accept a recharge and am quite surprised that a twelve year old battery is still hangin' tough~ ....but has to greet the battery recycler now~

With this truck we have a brand new battery, cleaned the connection terminals, put a new heater core in. We were dead stopped when the vent which was only blowing outside air just shut off. On the way home for just a brief moment the air started to blow, so I tried the AC was blowing a little, wasn't getting cold, cold, and not blowing hard like I know it can. The back was blowing o.k.. Now nothing at all. No A C no just plan air from vent.

you must inspect components what need replacing...if any of the speeds work at all, the motor is okay, but the resistors are burned- this video may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5jZNzYEGOs
