My Kia Sedona is fluctuating from cool to hot back to cool a few times while driving or sitting still. Does this sound like the thermostat is bad?

Sounds like a bad thermostat , don't buy cheap find a OEM AC delco supplier , you can test it in a pan of water with a kitchen thermometer once you get it out but then you may as well replace it
