Is my compressor bad?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had the air charged but only really
blows cold when it's less than 75
degrees outside. On top of that, the
air goes back and forth between the
panel and defrost. Any ideas?!

The back and forth part is from a vacuum leak in the blend door system. Check the connection at the vacuum tank. The cooling issue is probably from low refrigerant level.

Again... Gently! I agree with the comment about folding fins is bad. Don't fold the fins over. A garden hose can do the same damage if done incorrectly too. So could an air compressor. Look at the coil, if dirty (packed with dust, dirt, and bugs) clean out by spraying with a coil cleaner and wash it out.
