can new Opel engine be fitted in chevy impala 1964? is this even a good idea

Im thinking if it makes any sense to put more economic engine in Chevy Impala 1964 body, it would need apropriate transmition, and other things customise for that purpuse. Is that even an option for resonable investment?
Id like to have that 1960 look of a car but with "normal" EU usual engine?
