How do I open hood on a 2001 expedition when the inside latch won't work

You'll have to go underneath the truck, remove the front air dam and you'll see the hood latch and the release cable. Use a metal wire or clothes hanger with a 90 degree bend to catch the hole in the latch and pull it down. I assume this is because the inside release cable broke?

Look under dash and see if any of the original cable is still visible behind the hood release lever. If so, use a pair of vice grips and attach them to the wire and pull. That shoud do it.
