Your saying the starter motor won't crank the engine? Make sure battery has a full charge and battery cables/connections all good? Connections on all ends, not just at the battery. Your security system can disable your starter motor among other systems. Note the starter wiring diagram. Note the fuse. For testing, you can unplug starter relay, use jumper on load side of relay, left side in the diagram. The starter motor should crank the engine? If you try that, make sure transmission is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. Make sure vehicle can't move. By using the jumper your bypassing the control side of relay. If it still won't crank, could be starter motor problem--transmission range sensor--wiring circuit problem, somewhere. Always check voltage and grounds.

Could be ignition - sadly a comon problem on 2000-2004 focus... Could also be a starter or relay issue
