Any way to completely disable car alarm on a 2016 Ford Fusion SE?

We just bought a 2016 Ford Fusion yesterday and today discovered it has a car alarm, which we never even though of (our previous car was a 1999 without an alarm) and we really need to disable this. We can't have it going off accidentally when my husband gets home from work at midnight on weeknights. Please, can someone tell us how to disable the alarm?

Car alarms don't work to deter theft. https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2016/05/car-alarms-dont-work-why-so-common/482769/ "No" as in it can be disabled but no one will tell me how for personal ethical reasons, or "no" as in it can't be disabled at all?
