2016 Ford Fusion Stuck In Park 9k Milies
Car was parked for few weeks, had been hit on driver rear and when trying
to get it towed, came across the problem where wouldn't come out of park
no matter what they tried. (It was in a tight spot and tow truck couldn't reach
it)
Nonetheless finally the city towed it due to parking regulations ($400 for the
day) they must have drag it out.
Took it to dealership and they decided that they would have to do a
diagnostic I suppose it was a a car report card which no need the car only
had 9k miles on it.
I quote from paperwork " 99 See Story 456 C cost $145.00
R99 Repaired as per story Indicates 456 C cost $145.00
1 DG9Z*14526*P Circuit Breaker ASY cost $10.79 total $300.79
Labor $290
Removed console trim to override shifter control to shift from park. Tested
for inop system, found fuse 54 missimg from BJB. Replaced fuse and
reassembled console. Now vehicle shifts from park."
Then went on to check battery, tires, etc.
My question is, how did the fuse come up missing? The car was fine when
parked...was hit fairly hard causing body damage and I came back from my
trip to this. They say the fuse was physically removed as only suggestion.
IMPOSSIBLE. I had my keys, no signs of entry to vehicle. Also can you tell
me what this particular fuse actually does? Also couldn't they just have reset
or updated software as I have read on other sites or would it have worked
as soon as they did the override process?
