Spring for console latch 2013-2016 Mazda CX-5

Asked by GuruDZY13Q Nov 20, 2023 at 04:05 PM about the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Sport AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While I was replacing the center console latch
on 2016 Mazda CX-5, I lost the spring. Haven’t
been able to track one down. Any suggestions?
Just need the spring, or pin and spring.

If the dealer can’t get it then your stuck with a wrecking yard.

You're probably going to have to buy the whole piece from a junkyard and transfer the spring to your console lid. I had a similar situation when I bought my '94 Fleetwood. The sunglasses holder wouldn't stay closed because the plastic latch and spring were broken and missing. The rest of the holder was perfect. So I bought a whole other holder from the junkyard for a few dollars and just transferred the latch and spring. Has been working fine for 11 years now. Hope that helps! Jim
