Sadly ever since cars started using the thin CAFE oils, burning oil has become the new norm. But burning that much oil in NOT normal. The fix is to use a thicker oil. Using a 0w-30 or 5w-30 full synthetic will likely cure the burning problem.

My wife’s 2017 500x with 55k miles gets an oil change every 3k. We use Pennzoil ultra platinum synthetic, same as the assembly line fill. If we don’t change it every 3k we either have to add a qt or deal with poor performance in the form of stalling on acceleration.

Kia issued a recall/fic for excessive oil consumption. Check with your dealer as they say there is a fix.

I have a 2018 Fiat 500x and it burns through oil fast. There is definitely a problem there.

My 2016 Fiat 500 X is having a new engine installed because it burns oil. This seems to be a problem with these cars.

To the original question 2 quarts in 6500 miles is really not bad at all especially with zero weight oil. Switch to an oil like 5W20 or 30 and oil consumption will go down. No one needs zero weight oil.
