IS Honda HR-V's 141hp engine is concern

Hi All,
This is the first car I am buying in my life. And this will be the first car i will
be driving regularly. I liked all the features of Honda HR-V and almost
decided to buy HR-V Ex FWD. But one comments from every other review
bothering me is the HP. HR-V has 141 hp and most of the reviews say the
acceleration/pick up is not good because of this. Is this really true? Does it
make much difference?Should i be really worried with this? I will be mostly
driving in free ways and in cities. Pleae

I've been driving the HR-V for over a year. I really like it in the city, 29mpg! It's fun to drive. It may not be very powerful, but it's got a little pep. At freeway speed it does well. The CVT engine takes getting used to, but you might like it. The car has all the tech and the touchscreen is cool.

I just bought a 2018 HR-V, after owning a CR-V for 3 years. I was concerned about "downsizing" (especially after earlier downsizing from 6 years of Odysseys), but have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with the feel and performance. Sure, it doesn't have the same pep as the CR-V but that hasn't been a problem around town OR on the highway. What amazes me is the feeling of plenty of room (although the loss of extra storage) in the cabin. Yet, again, the trade-off has been worth it. The 141 hp engine HAS NOT bothered me at all.

I test drove my HRV up Stock Yard Hill and was pleased with the performance. At one point it kicked in to passing gear and took off.
