Does anyone know why my SUV shuts off?

Asked by S Apr 02, 2025 at 04:17 AM about the 2016 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Eco AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased a 2016 Hyndau Tucson and it's already
giving me hell. It cuts off while I am driving and in this
traffic it's very unsafe. I just had a battery put in and it
still shuts off. I just lost a child and can't afford to
purchase another. Any ideas what it could be?

Seek a professional, they most likely will need to do live data scanning to see what is not up to specs, shutting down while driving can be difficult to find, there are a lot of sensors that can do a mis read and cause the computer to turn off spark, fuel or even injector pulse. If I had to guess I'd say crank or cam sensors.
