Have you ever shut the seatbelt in the door?
I've had this same problem on my 2011 Tucson, and I did indeed shut the seatbelt in the door. The alarm has gone off by itself twice in the last week, but only at night. Thought it was getting broken into. Any advice?????

The seatbelt probably has caused the metal on the door to cave in The sensor cannot be depressed so it acts like your door is still open. If this is the case then you have to fix the dent on the door. A thin metal piece with two self-tapping screws helped me.
rcameron323 your answer did the trick. Small dents in the driver size door indicate where the seat belt has been catching on me. A magnet strip solved the problem for now, a larger magnet strip will do permanently. By the way why can't anyone seem to design a three-point seat belt that doesn't retract for the life of a car? I've had this problem on numerous vehicles.
GuruY7DBQ what kind of magnetic strip did you buy and from where? I'm having the same issue and trying to fix it with a washer and duct tape.
i too have same issue and also keen to know what and where this magnetic strip came from!
OMG..... I have been driving around with the bell ringing driving me crazy.... didn’t have time to take it in for repair look....I happen to save magnets and I have a little one off the back of a name plate......PERFECT!!! THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you! I've been driving with that annoying door dinger going off for a couple of weeks now. I knew it was because I'd caught the seatbelt in the door, but had no idea how to fix it.
Pull the door trim off and push the bent area of the door back out using a lever or a blunt ended object and give it a light tap with a hammer. This is a permanent fix until the seat belt gets caught again
