New tires???

Asked by GuruNLT8P Oct 28, 2019 at 02:01 PM about the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse 2LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Im driving form Lansing Michigan to Avondale Arizona next
week. I have a 2016 Chevy Traverse LT. The trip is just under
2K miles. I'm looking for some advice on if I should get new
tires now or if the ones I have should make it. The vehicle
will also be full. There is some slight sidewall cracking
closer to the rims on a couple of the tires and all of the tires
resemble the picture

Those tires do not have a lot of life left in them. New tires are advisable.

The fact you are concerned enough to ask suggests you feel they are not safe, Judging by the picture, I wouldn't even trust them driving around town. I would get new tires asap! Advise: I also recommend checking your brakes and windshield wipers, especially before your trip. Spending money on those items is less expensive than having to pay a fine for driving around on bald tires (you'd still need the 4 new tires); or your deductible if you can't stop your car on time when you finally see other cars, people, property or other road hazard. Neglecting those has great potential for damage or injury. Thanks for an excellent question! I hope my response helps you and others who read your post. Safe travels!
