Will my 2001 3.8 fit in a 2005 4.0 Mustang

It might fit, but isn't worth the hassle of installing it. You will have to change out more than the engine. Wiring harness, ECM, exhaust ,etc. Find another 4.0L or if you want anther engine and a good project, install a 4.6L or a 5.0L in it.
