does the security alarm system come equipped with a panic button?
I ordered a 2016 Dodge promaster 2500 high roof, 159 wb, with a security alarm. The key lock does not have a panic button as the catalog shows and the security alarm lite does not illuminate when you lock the vehicle. My dealer is trying to tell me, it does not come with a panic button and the alarm lite does not function as the owners manual states! Are the feeding me a line of B.S.

some automobiles, have a "light" switch on the key fob press it and the lights will come on and go off in 15 seconds or so, they also have a panic alarm which when the light switch is pressed on the key fob and immediatly pressed again the security alarm will go off for 15 seconds or so

That does not even look like any of the Dodge key fobs I looked up and it does not appear to have a panic button. If the dealer is giving you BS, go to another dealer and talk to them.

I suspect they are trying to pawn off an aftermarket fob and system on you.
I also received the same keyfob with no panic. the dodge "key" would have nowhere to insert or turn. My keyfob has the switchblade sidewinder key in it.
I just bought a 2017 ram promaster 1500 136" wb standard roof that came with the same exact type of key as beebeecroft photo demonstrate. According to my research looking to make a duplicate I have encountered that the key is exactly like the one made by Fiat which now own Daimler Chrysler. In my attempt to find a cheaper alternative key duplicate it gets very confusing but perhaps a locksmith or a key specialist can answer that.
Here's how to test if your vehicle has a factory alarm system.: Get the remote, get inside, lock the doors using your remote. This will arm the alarm. Get out using the door handle and the alarm will go off, since you did not use the remote to unlock the door.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is pretty stupid because I have the 3 button keyfob and it keeps on getting dirty on the board in the keyfob and i cleaned it out and the turn signals flashed 5 times when i took the keyfob apart.
