What's causing the light knocking?

2016 equinox 3.6L tapping noise at idle that gets
louder with acceleration. I used my stethoscope to
locate the noise and I hear it loudest in the center
of the engine under the intake manifold. Before I
rip apart the engine does anyone know what it
could be.

Most likely suspects are a lifter, worn camshaft, or worn camshaft bearing. Jim
