Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving and all of a sudden my bug stopped
accelerating then shut off.  Tried starting again
and it wouldnt start. After sitting for a min it
started again and accelerator worked again. Then
further down a block from my house it dies again.
After a min of sitting, it works again... whats up
with my accelerator?

It is not "the accelerator"- if the accelerator cable broke, it would stay broke- as for the problem you describe, start with a major service on that old beetle- how long has it been?

Thanks everyone for the advice everyone, after further research, I'm gonna try a new fuel pump and see if that fixes it.
