My engine died. Why?

Asked by Amanda Sep 26, 2015 at 01:06 PM about the 2002 Volkswagen Beetle GLS 1.8T

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and the engine just cut off. I can crank the car but it won't start. Prior to this happening, I was having a little trouble with it shifting into a higher gear sometimes

Have somebody check to make sure the crankshaft position sensor is good. Located on the transmission. Cheap part if bad
