1973 VW Beetle Electrical issue?

Asked by Erik Jun 28, 2018 at 05:22 PM about the 1973 Volkswagen Beetle Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1973 VW Beetle. When I bought her she ran fine and needed the
occasional update to keep her going. I'm pretty decent at working with
mechanics, but recently an electrical issue came up. Every time I go to use
the left directional the #12 fuse blows. Now I tried removing the bulbs to see
if I had a bad socket but that doesn't seem to be the issue. My right blinker
doesn't seem to be a problem (however, it blinks quickly). Does this mean its
an issue with my turn signal switch? What should I be looking for?
