Jetta will not start, no ingition spark

Asked by GuruG68WC Aug 30, 2020 at 04:03 PM about the 2014 Volkswagen Jetta Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2014 Jetta, 2.0. Started misfiring then wouldn't start. Codes p0300, p0301,
p0304. Figured it was the coil pack since I'd had this issue on another earlier
Jetta. Didn't fix. Replaced crank position sensor, easy and cheap. didn't fix.
Now trouble shooting. I have 5 V at the cam position sensor. Unpluged and
ran jumpers between plug and sensor. I'm getting varying voltage at the
signal terminal when engine is cranked over. I'm assuming that the sensor is
working. I didn't run jumpers at the crank sensor since it's new I figured it's
good, however I only Have about 2.5V at the plug. I checked the voltage at
the coil pack plug. One terminal is a ground, the one next to it has .15V with
ignition on and about .35V when cranking. The next term has no voltage and
the one opposite end from ground has the same as one next to ground. I
don't know what other components other than the ECU effect the ignition
spark. I checked the fuses. Any ideas?

Although They are not showing up here, I've had four responses. Guru21GWT suggested I check the coil power fuse. Thought I had but double checked and that was the issue. Thank you so much.
