Low on coolant? Air in the system?

Or a failed coolant temperature sensor. To protect the engine the computer will assume the engine is overheating when no signal is received from the coolant temperature sensor. Is your check engine light on? If so, scan the computer for trouble codes or visit your local auto parts store and they'll scan it for you. Most stores will do it for free. Hope that helps! Jim
