Thinking of purchasing 2016 Murano Platinum. Afraid of 20 in tires, harsh ride, road noise, etc Also have doubts about CVT tranny longevity. Can someone help?

The Nissan CVT's have a very bad reputation and you are absolutely right about 20" wheels and a harsh ride.

Thanks for your help. You confirmed what I've been reading. The Murano is a nice looking SUV - too bad it is so flawed.
Cannot vouch for a 2016 model Murano, but I have owned a 2004 Murano SL with all options except obviously the AWD since purchasing new in Dec 2003 and still prefer it over many other SUV's. By the way, never an issue with only front-wheel drive in snow & ice in Oklahoma City or in Colorado, or Taos, New Mexico when going snow skiing. Even have the towing package (installed 2006) to tow my 10' trailer with 1,040lb John Deere EZTrak 717a 48"deck mower and have been hauling 9 summers to mow our other property. Mileage now is 180,700+ and is still in excellent condition mechanically and aesthetically. I personally have always liked the 20" chrome wheels, but never put anything else on it, so not sure if it would be any smoother riding with smaller wheels or not. But I stepped down to this 2004 Murano from a 1999 4-WD Dodge Quad-Cab 2500 diesel truck with manual 6spd transmission, so I've always loved the Murano ride and the CVT transmission. At highway speeds, it still 'takes off' when you need it to quickly pass someone or something. I hope it lasts well past 300,000 miles for this very happy female owner.
