i have a 04 honda civic i drive everyday went to work this morning no problem.. when i tried leaving work car starts up every time but after 2 seconds if that it dies out... also tried holding down pedal and rpm goes up but still dies out and can hear like putty noise from exhaust fuel pump sounds like its working and i can see from engine it shoots out.... what can this be?

First and cheapest - Make sure you don't have fuel contamination - water etc. Drive the car a full tank and get it close to empty and then fill it up at a different gas station.
