my 2003 honda accord v6 will not start with the key

Asked by Lydia7717 Dec 12, 2016 at 07:40 PM about the 2003 Honda Accord EX V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I put my key in the ignition the dash lights up but the car will not start.  If
I use my automatic starter it starts right up.  Put my key in and drive off.  What
could it be?  Do I need a new key?  I know you can get keys on Amazon for
about 15.00.  But, where to get it programed?  Has anyone else had this
problem?  Thank you for any advice that you can give me.

Not familiar with the 03, so don't know what you mean by auto starter, unless you have a starter button on your key fob. If you do & that works, it could be that the key chip program has gotten screwed up some how or the ignition switch itself could have gone bad.
