My 98 civic throw a code for transmission range sensor but my car starts right
up everytime could the sensor still be bad or just a faulty code

The range sensor might effect the way the transmission shifts, and has nothing to do with you starting the vehicle. Have a mechanic diagnose the issue when you get the chance.

The mechanic scanned my car and the transmission range sensor code came up I called autozone for the part they gave me neutral safety switch is that the same thing ??
