WHY IS ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING?

I HAVE A 99 CIVIC D16Y7 ONEDAY DRIVING IT DIED ON ME THE DASH LIGHTS WENT DIM THEN HEADLIGHTS THAN CAR SHUT OFF. SO I I GOT NEW BATTERY GOT IT HOME TESTED THE ALTERNATOR CHARGING AT A 12.5V NOT ENOUGH TO CHRG THE BATTERY. SO I REPLACED ALT STILL ONLY CHRG AT 12.5V SO I FOLLOWED WIRE FROM BACK OF ALT TO THE FUSE BOX FOUND OUT THE WIRE HAD FRIED SO I REPLACE FUSE BOX AND WIRE NOW STILL ONLY CHRG AT 12.5V NOW IM LOST??

I had the exact same problem. I just put in a cheap CPU I got off of ebay just for the hell of it, and sure enough, it worked! My next step is putting in an amp gauge so I know if the alternator ever gives out. I advise you do the same. Problem after that? Let me know. www.jaysonvonosinski.com

try another alt,the alt,s you buy are rebuilt,auto zone advance auto,dont trust them.go NAPA or a independent parts store,better parts.
