Brake light stays on

Asked by OGTJ Jul 01, 2019 at 03:57 PM about the 2003 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1st my right brake light would go out..but came
back on if tapped eventually changed bulb when
completely went out. Friday I noticed left brake
light stayed on..element obviously was VERY
hot.replaced both bulbs but still stayed on. I
purchased a brake light switch n watching a few
different guys on YouTube, being a 53 year old lady,
I felt comfortable 2 install the switch myself and
did. Not sure if I did it correctly cuz the brake lights
are STILL on. I've since unplugged the bulbs so
they won't wear down my battery. Oh BTW prior 2
brake light issue the icon for air bag came on.
