Uphill acceleration

I recently bought a CR-V. I've noticed that on steep uphills, the car accelerates
gears down and actually accelerates even when I don't push on the gas pedal
(and not in cruise). I'm not overly excited by this function because of higher
fuel consumption and additional risk on slippery driving conditions. Al B.

If the car runs off on its own then you have a major problem. Take it back to the dealer, after all that is what warranties are for.

I have just bought a 2019 C-RV and the car did this to me today for the first time. I was driving up a steep incline on a bridge going about 58 mph, and the car downshifted automatically and took off. Going up hill, the vehicle accelerated about 12 mph to 70 mph without me realizing it! Im going to reach out to the dealer tomorrow to see if there is a software issue.
