why is my car doesn't accelerate speed?

i was driving my car and all of the sudden the engine light pooped out and the
car decreased the speed and when i pushed the gas the car doesn't
accelerate speed (it doesn't pass 25 mps). it smell burning transmission fluid.
can anybody explain what happened to my car  ?

Have a mechanic read the codes to tell what is wrong.

check your fuel filter ... maybe it's not pumping gas.... b'coz the line is block already....

Automatic or Manual transmission? I know you said " it smell burning transmission fluid" but I can't assume it's an automatic from that.
