Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Knock occurs in "D" and "R". Not audible when idle.  Fluids not low. 59K miles
has never ran hot. Car sat through the pandemic. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad knock sensor. The knock sensor is like a microphone that listens for spark knock, especially on acceleration. When it hears the knock the sensor sends a signal to the computer to retard the ignition timing to stop the knock. When the system is working correctly it happens so fast the knock is not heard by you. Hope that helps! Jim
