2001 ford Taurus quit will driving and will not start, anyone have this problem?

The battery is fully charged, the key will not engage the starter, head lights,
radio, heater fan works. The turn signals and wipers will not turn on. I have
replaced the ignition switch, checked fuses and a couple fusable links, and all
are functioning properly.

Try banging the starter while someone turns thw key. BRAKE PRESSED CAR IN NEUTRAL/PARK. or maybe is the starter solenoid happened on a newer ford focus...
