Running hot and dying

Asked by Cheris Jun 18, 2016 at 04:19 PM about the 2001 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car started running hot. I replaced the
radiator and removed the thermostat. Ever
since, ive had trouble starting the car. It
cranks but it doesn't start. It will finally start
if i hold the gas pedal all the way down for at
least a min. Then it starts to run hot again. It
started blowing out white smoke from
exhaust. I can drive it maybe 1 mile anx it
dies while going down the road

Smoke out the exhaust is either a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head from getting too hot. $$$
