Why would vehicle suddenly start stumbling?

Just purchased has ran fine.
Idles high intermittently. All of a
sudden starting it was an issue.
Today I started it it revved up,
then dropped and stumbled

sounds like a vacuum leak, or air intake leak. great you tube vids on how to check for vacuum leaks. check em out.

check engine light should be on, for codes, idle control valve sluggish or failing, and clean throttle plates with gum-out
