Should I get my catalytic converter completely cut off and replaced with a pipe?
I have a 2000 honda accord lx, it took me 8
months to get an oil change. After i finally
got it changed, my check engine light
blinked 4 times. I noticed that my engine
would jump a little when I crank it but will
settle after a few seconds. I took it to get
diagnosed and the problems were the
catalytic converter, i needed a tune up, 02
sensor (upstream) and EGR valve. I was
able to crank and drive my car until i got the
tune up. Once i got the tune up and crank
my car the air stopped working, the
catalytic converter turned fire red, and my
engine will not settle like it used to. It keeps
jumping. It jumps harder when I try to turn
the air on. Also, my air conditioning unit
clicks since the tune up but it has not ran
hot. Would it be ok if I get the catalytic
converter completely cut off and replaced
with a pipe?
