Check altinator output for amps. It may not be putting out enough amps
The light still is indicating a problem with either the battery or the alternator. Make sure the battery is checked to make sure it is good. If you have a digital multi meter, a full battery charge would be 12.7 DCV. The alternator when the vehicle is running should be putting out anywhere from 13.8 to no more than 14.7 DCV. If it is then the alternator is over charging and the problem would lie with the voltage regulator.
The big problem solved: The Alternator Connector eventually roasts and lands the wires. Disconnect and replace with a new one. The Duralast part number is 244. I replaced 2 Alternators and 1 Battery with no result. I finally found this. possibly all the Alternafores were fine
