Brake light switch

2012 Volkswagen Eos. Where is
the brake light switch? I swear it
is not on the brake pedal

I would open the hood and look around on the master cylinder for a wire/sensor. Thanks to German engineering, it will be in the least likely place, if you find it at all.

I did find it!...even 3 VW Dealers I called didn't now where it was. It is on the brake master cylinder, under the hood. Very inconvenient.

"Old time engineering" thinks to put it on the hydraulic line to sense pressure but it would be a whole lot simpler to put a micro switch somewhere on the brake pedal assembly like most other non-German cars. Thanks for the points and the reply. Now we know for sure.
