Same problem EPC & Engine Light came on in my 2010 VW Golf Base

Asked by Starla0925 Jan 08, 2018 at 01:02 PM about the 2010 Volkswagen Golf City Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Same problem here was own my
way to work car started shaking
the EPC and engine lights came
on but it never cut off. I thought it
was cause I was running really
low on gas the gas light had just
came on .So I thought maybe
some trash got sucked up in to
the motor or etc. Well it's been 4
days now and my epx & engine
light is still on it acts sluggish
when driving it. When I come to a
stop like at a light it kinda shakes.
I'm so scared after reading all the
other stories that I'm gonna get
stranded on the side of the road.
Can anyone help give some
advice please!! I don't have the
money for an expensive
dealership. Any ideas???

sure a good place to start is a vw/audi specialist shop they will often scan your car for free and let you know whats going on. To properly scan the car the mechanics will often require a special scanner or rosstech scanning software to do a proper scan. I would take a guess that this may be oil or sensor related. had a few issues with my 2012 jetta a few years ago aperently my paper filter was sucked in to tight during operation and gave the sensor a miss read.
