2008 VW City Golf - Change Air Cabin Filter
Asked by Cayman Apr 26, 2018 at 08:38 PM about the 2008 Volkswagen Golf City Base
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi Car Gurus - I cannot for the life of me find out where to change the air
cabin filter on my 2008 VW City Golf. Looked online for different solutions
and do not see a "frame" compartment under the hood against the back of
the glove box or a pull-down option under the glove box.
...nothing seems to be easy with this "City" Golf model
Please help!
Thanks,
Cayman

Will have to take another photo, but here is a photo of under the glove box towards the back.
Or should I look at the inside of the glove box?
No. Not inside glove box. Under it, towards the firewall.Go to YouTube, type in the search box: 2008 vw citi golf cabin filter replacement. You'll see videos of guys replacing the filter. Use a good flashlight so u can see what you're doing. Good luck
Did you find it Cayman? I have the same problem...
No was not able to find it. And recently got rid of the car. Sorry can't be more help.

Some City Golf and City Jettas are made so cheaply that they're not equipped with a cabin air filter. They simply have a screen in front of the passenger side firewall. Just use a vacuum to clean it of any leaves and debris.

Hi guys, I have 2008 Jetta City 2.0 and cannot locate cabin air filter under glove box - wondering if they didn't put one in as stated above? I've seen youtube videos about replacing filter on the 2008 Jetta, but don't see anything about the City model. Wondering if anyone can confirm there is no Cabin Air Filter for the 2008 Jetta City 2.0? Cheers, Chris
