My car computer flashed up brake fault on my way
home what does this mean

Probably an ABS issue. These are "usually" wheel speed sensors that go bad or need cleaned. You should have a code stored in the ABS module. Get the code scanned and go from there.

Have 2.5 engine in 2013 Passat I just bought and similar light of above but manual says "may be" low fluid; finding appearance of brake fluid reservoir cap, I realized that a basic of regular maintenance was the secret to removing "shroud" w/ 2.5 in center that covers appreciably all of engine proper. The is generous w/ passenger compartment pictures but absolutely nothing on the exposed engine compartment when the hood is raised. Is there a reference in tech manuals as to what & where fill positions & general facilities to attend are located and if so how can I view same?

My Passat has new pads, and when I break it won't stop. I have to really push it hard down. Please help!!! Thanks,

You brake boosters not getting vacuum . You may need a new vacuum pump which supplies the brake assist that your missing
